There’s something incredibly special about photographing couples in the Great Smoky Mountains, especially when they’re traveling from out of town to celebrate such an exciting season of life. When Megan and her fiancé made the trip from Kentucky to the Smokies, we spent time exploring some of the beautiful mountain scenery and capturing their engagement photos along the way.

One of my favorite things about being a Smoky Mountain engagement photographer is getting to photograph couples who travel to East Tennessee for their engagement session. The Great Smoky Mountains offer so many incredible backdrops, from mountain overlooks and winding roads to lush forests and open fields.
For Megan and her fiancé, the Smokies gave us the perfect setting for photos that felt natural and true to them.
Rather than making the session feel overly posed, we focused on spending time together, exploring the scenery, laughing, walking, and letting the moments happen naturally. Those in-between moments often end up being some of my favorite photographs from an engagement session.
